An eye examination is carried out by an optometrist and usually takes about 20-30 minutes. Sometimes it can take longer if you need extra tests, but this is to make sure you can see as well as possible. As well as testing your sight, the optometrist will check the health of your eyes and look for signs of general health problems.Find Us On Facebook

As well at stocking all the latest designer & traditional frames from the UK and abroad, we can also hand-make frames to your own size, colour and specifications! With rimless spectacles, you can change the shape and size of the lens to give different effects.
Your lenses are just as important as your frame in determining the look of your spectacles and higher index lenses have been designed with this in mind. The material used in our higher index lenses is the latest lightweight optical-grade plastic. This means they are remarkably thinner and flatter than conventional lenses - with no compromise on optical performance. Today, you can enjoy the cosmetic and visual benefits of thinner lenses, whatever your prescription. High index lenses are coated with an anti-reflective coating as standard. This coating dramatically reduces reflections - letting people see your eyes and not your lenses. It also reduces the glare and dazzle you can suffer from when working on a computer or driving at night. Better still, a hard-coating is applied to high index plastic lenses to reduce the lens scratches that would otherwise reduce clarity of your vision. Photochromic lenses are available, which change from a light to a dark tint according to the brightness of the sun.
Contact lenses can be replaced daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly or yearly. There are a vast range of materials, fittings and prescriptions. The contact lens specialist will discuss your needs and prescribe the lens most suitable for you.
Cosmetic lenses can change the colour of your eye and are available in prescription and non-prescription variants. Bandage lenses can be fitted for protection following an injury or surgery to the eye. Toric lenses are available for prescriptions with astigmatism. For prescriptions incorporating a separate reading strength, a multifocal lens is available.
Sun, sport, sea, sky everything we associate with leisure time and holidays, and yet many people still subject their eyes to the stress and strain of bright sunlight. Protect your eyes from glare and enjoy the warmth and light of the summer. Let sunglass lenses open your eyes to the pleasure of the sun.
As well as having a sunglass lens with a fixed colour, graduated tint or mirror finish, there are other types of sunglass lens available. Photochromic lenses are a type of spectacle lens which can change the darkness of the tint according to the level of sunlight present. If the sun is shining bright they go dark and if you walk inside they go clear. (Available with or without prescription). Polarized lenses are used in sunglasses to reduce glare from reflective surfaces such as the surface of a lake or the hood of a car. They accomplish this feat through a process called polarization, much like a venetian blind controls sunlight through a window. All offer 100% UV light blocker.
